The Tennessee Public Library Management Institute is sponsored by Tennessee State Library and Archives. The Institute is a comprehensive training program designed to qualify graduates as Certified Public Library Managers (CPLM).  The main component is a three-year Public Management Institute (PLMI) for the directors of small and medium-sized public libraries or library branch managers who do not have MLS degrees. The Institute focuses on leadership, management, and community partnerships. Current library directors, with at least one year of experience in their current position, may apply.
