Holston River Regional Library: Collection Development

Libguide for the Libraries in the Holston River Region.

From the Introduction:

"CREW: A Weeding Manual for Modern Libraries attempts to describe clearly, practically, and in a step-by-step fashion a now tried-and-true method of carrying out the five processes of ‘reverse selection:’ inventory, collection evaluation, collection maintenance, weeding, and discarding. Keep in mind that no single process will serve the needs of all libraries. CREW: A Weeding Manual for Modern Libraries offers guidelines, and attempts to explain the reasons behind the guidelines, but every library should consider the needs of their particular community and adjust the guidelines accordingly."
