2022 Summer Reading Conference Costume and Craft Competitions

COSTUME COMPETITION

Librarians are encouraged to dress up in costumes that fit the theme of the 2022 Summer Reading Program - Oceans of Possibilities (Oceanography). You may submit an entry as an individual or a group, but only one winner will be chosen per library.

Rules:

  1. Submit a photo of your costume NO LATER than NOON on October 18. Include your name(s), the public library you work for, a brief description of your costume, and an email where we can contact you. Send the photo and description to Kate Greene Smith at kate.smith@tn.gov.

  2. Wear your costume during the Virtual Summer Reading Conference on October 19 if you would like. Voting will take place after the 1 pm breakout sessions.

  3. Voting will be done over Google Forms that afternoon during the final two sessions.

  4. The top 3 winners determined by vote between 2-4 pm will be mailed a prize from Kate Greene Smith.

 

CRAFT COMPETITION

Librarians are encouraged to create a craft USING THE 2022 CSLP MANUAL to display and share during the conference. You may submit an entry as an individual or a group, but only one winner will be chosen per library.

Rules:

  1. Submit a photo of your craft NO LATER than NOON on October 18. Include your name(s), the public library you work for, a brief description of your craft, which page of the manual it came from, and an email where we can contact you. Send the photo and description to Kate Greene Smith at kate.smith@tn.gov.

  2. Have your craft nearby during the Virtual Summer Reading Conference on October 19, if you would like. Voting will take place after the 1 pm breakout sessions.

REGIONAL LIBRARY CRAFT COMPETITION

The regional libraries will create a craft USING THE 2022 CSLP MANUAL to compete against other regional libraries. The general population of the attendees of the 2022 Summer Reading Conference will vote for the best craft during the conference. 

 

Rules:

  1. Regional libraries will create ONE craft from the CSLP manual. They will submit photos of their creations to Kate NO LATER than NOON on Monday, October 18. Include Regional Library name, name of the craft, and which page of the manual it came from. Submit to kate.smith@tn.gov. 

  2. The winner receives the honor of being named MOST AMAZINGLY TALENTED CRAFT CREW OF THE YEAR along with the Regional Library Craft Competition Trophy. Plus, you get bragging rights for ONE FULL YEAR.
